Background

Pauline has over thirty years experience as a Textile Artist. Initially qualifying as a teacher gaining Distinction in Creative Design, she spent the following years teaching Creative Textiles and Art to adults and pupils of secondary school age.

Relocating to Singapore she taught Textile Art on a full time basis at the United World College of South East Asia.

Returning to England, she continued teaching, eventually choosing to work part time, allowing her to complete City and Guilds Creative Embroidery Parts 1 and 2.

More recently she completed an HNC in Stitched Textiles as a distant learner with GLOSCAT. This provided her with the opportunity to further explore techniques and apply them to new subject areas.

In February 2006 Pauline was selected to be a finalist for exhibition with the Charles Henry Foyle Trust Stitched Textiles Award. Her exhibit enitled ‘Chaos and Calm’ originated from the set theme ‘Maelstrom’.

Pauline has exhibited at many venues throughout the North West. She is also a member of the Embroiderers Guild.

Having enjoyed such a broad base of study in both Art and Design, inspiration is drawn from many sources, especially the changing seasons, nature and the environment.
